Angus school pupils took part in a fascinating workshop on The Cutting Edge yesterday (Wednesday 26 February)

The primary seven class from Wardykes Primary School in Arbroath enjoyed workshops run by Dundee Science Centre and Dundee and Angus College. Through a number of hands-on activities and experiments, pupils learned about dissection, surgery and biology.

The workshops are part of an exciting new learning programme run by Dundee Science Centre and Dundee and Angus College, designed to enhance and further develop STEM learning in Early Years, Primary and Secondary Schools throughout the area. The ‘Inspiring STEM’ programme provides guides, activities and digital resources which can be delivered in the classroom or as part of a homework task.

Carlene Cura, Fundraising and Development Advisor, Dundee Science Centre commented, “This new programme is designed around key experiences and outcomes of the Curriculum for Excellence and provides schools with a wide variety of STEM topics. We are absolutely delighted that Warrdykes had such a positive experience taking part in this new pilot which will be an invaluable addition to the great work schools are already doing to promote STEM learning, and to promote the endless STEM career options which lie ahead for the pupils.”
