The Dundee Museum of Transport has released its first issue of The Klaxon, a magazine aimed at entertaining transport enthusiasts and amateurs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chairman Peter Webber stated, “One of our stalwart volunteers decided that we needed something to lift our spirits during this crisis. Hence we decided to create The Klaxon to entertain our supporters.
“This first issue has been put together in less than two weeks with enormous support from our volunteers. We’ve received such great response that we’ve decided to make the first issue available on our website, and to produce more issues in the future.”
The first issue of The Klaxon includes articles about the history of Dundee buses, popular cars from the 50s and 60s, and racing history. Of the next issue, Development Manager Katherine Southern said, “We want to include more kid-friendly puzzles, articles, and activities. We think that transportation is entertaining for people of all ages!
“If anyone has ideas or contributions for future issues, they should reach out to us via email or social media.”

Dundee Museum of Transport was established in 2010 with the aim of saving and re-developing the site of the former Maryfield Tram Depot. The Museum, currently situated on Market Street in Dundee, opened in 2014 and has become a popular attraction among the City's thriving heritage scene.
