Webinar aimed at team leaders to ease returning to work whilst addressing potential Covid-19 related mental health concerns – Complemented by extensive online toolkit

First Psychology Assistance (FPA) is launching a FREE webinar and online toolkit to help managers support their teams’ transition back to work as Covid-19-related restrictions are loosened across Scotland.

The free one hour webinar will be live at 12 noon on Friday 29th May. Registration details can be found at https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/5331800570956493069

First Psychology Scotland’s Clinical Director, Professor Ewan Gillon, said: “Returning to work after lockdown will present challenges to employers and staff as they are adjusting to the much-quoted ‘new normal’.

“Employees may have been affected by bereavements; they or their family may have been sick themselves or they may have had varying degrees of anxiety caused by the uncertainty of the last few months.

“Team leaders, managers and human resources professionals can all benefit from better understanding how to approach their teams, what kind of issues are likely to arise and where to look for solutions. Our webinar will provide that.”

The one hour webinar will be led by First Psychology’s team of experienced psychologists and counsellors. The session will cover specific, workplace-related scenarios, whilst the complimentary toolkit will provide more detailed information and resources to help employers and managers navigate their teams’ return to work.

Topics include how to create an atmosphere that encourages open communications and allows employees to come forward with concerns. Attendees will also receive advice on how to recognise signs of anxiety, negative effects of social isolation and even trauma resulting from bereavements.

In addition, First Psychology’s experts will provide guidance to help managers and team leaders look after themselves.

Professor Ewan Gillon, explains: “Many of us are looking forward to recreating a sense of normality. At the same time, we have all been affected by Covid-19 in some way.

“As workplaces are opening up again, it’s important to acknowledge these effects and try to handle them well to the benefit of our society as a whole.”
