Nina Fairweather, a chartered safety and health practitioner based in Dundee with more than 25 years experience in the international hospitality industry, has published a short free coaching session on how to complete a Covid-19 risk assessment.
This coaching session will take you through some of the key controls that you need to consider when carrying out a specific Covid-19 risk assessment for your business.
Hygiene & health is having a profound influence on everyone and is consequently what people will need assurance on, when for example booking a hotel, restaurant or using another service sector. It is also what employees will look for when returning to work. Operating standards for safety, security, and cleanliness will be subject to new, elevated expectations.
It is a requirement for every business to carry out a specific assessment of the risk of exposure to Covid-19 and to put in the necessary controls.
Risk assessments have always been a legal part of business for maintaining health and safety, and they will now be crucial for preparing your business for the return to work. COVID-19 is a new hazard that must be incorporated into workplace risk assessments. Employers must therefore specifically assess the risk of exposure to COVID-19 .
Each business must record the critical control measures that are to be put in place (e.g. cleaning and disinfection, use of work equipment, work flows, travel arrangements, training, sickness reporting, return to work procedures) as evidence of a due diligence approach to managing risk from Covid-19.
During this presentation Nina will provide you with informed considerations on how to carry out a risk assessment to re-open your business safely.
