Xplore Dundee has been shortlisted in three categories at the upcoming Scottish Transport Awards.

The city’s main bus operator is nominated for Excellence in Transport Accessibility, Best Bus Service (for Service 22) and Public Transport Operator of the Year.

Managing Director Christine McGlasson said: “We have put a huge amount of effort into enhancing various aspects of our services in the past year, and Service 22 in particular was the first route to benefit from our fleet investment programme.

“The first batch of Emerald vehicles we received provide customers on the 22 with modern, quieter, cleaner buses; alongside these the ticket machine upgrade across the fleet means we can now accept contactless payment and makes boarding quicker and easier for all.

“I’m also very pleased that our accessibility work is being recognised - we work hard to make sure people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can use our services and it’s great to be in the running for an award which will highlight our efforts in this area.”

The Scottish Transport Awards are planned for September and are set to be confirmed according to the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions.
