Xplore Dundee service increase - Sunday 9th August 2020

Xplore Dundee is introducing a new set of timetables from this Sunday (9th August).

The increase in buses and frequency is in line with Phase 3 of the Scottish Government's lockdown exit strategy and coincides with the beginning of the new school year.

Managing Director Christine McGlasson said: “Our passenger numbers are rising slowly but surely and we are hovering around the 40-50% mark. When the school term begins and more parents begin to travel to work we’re expecting this number to rise again, so to make sure we have enough capacity we’re putting on more buses.

“To help us balance demand, we’re asking people to consider travelling outside of the morning and evening peak times where possible.

“We’re continuing to keep a very close eye on customer numbers and travel patterns to make sure everyone can travel safely on our services, adhering to the physical distancing guidelines of 1 metre on public transport, wearing face coverings whenever possible.”

Xplore Dundee has recently been awarded ‘Good to Go’ status by VisitScotland, which certifies that the operator is complying with government guidance to keep passengers and employees safe.

Full timetables are available online at xploredundee.com and journey planning apps will update automatically when the new timings come into effect this weekend.
