Scottish Chambers of Commerce Council

Gary Langlands represented us at the latest meeting of the Council of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce.   Procurement, bank lending terms, business rates and renewable energy were all discussed.  Gary made sure that tax breaks for the games industry, so vital to its future here in Dundee, was discussed and will remain firmly on Scottish Chambers of Commerce agenda during its programme of meetings with the UK Treasury team.

The Scottish Government has given a very clear indication that the costs associated with wind power developments will all be passed on to consumers in the form of higher power bills.  This is clearly a cause for concern and Gary has put his name forward to join a sub-group that will consider the implications of this for business.
