Business Event Builds Digital Bridge Across North Sea

A popular annual business event has created an all-digital bridge across the North Sea for the first time in its seven-year history.

The seventh Aberdeen-Norway Gateway was hosted by Granite PR and held in association with the Norwegian British Chamber of Commerce. Its first time online ran on September 2nd and 3rd and gave over 180 registered delegates the chance to benefit from knowledge sharing and networking opportunities in a remote, safe and accessible way, appropriate to current operating conditions.

The event targeted, in particular, businesses seeking to establish or grow a presence in their counterpart location and was delivered by an impressive line-up of speakers led by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Norway Richard Wood and Aberdeen Lord Provost Barney Crockett. They were joined by business representatives from Scotland and Norway who shared their experiences, successes and challenges with a global online audience.

Commenting on the event, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Norway Richard Wood said: “Scotland and Norway are North Sea neighbours. They have highly skilled and integrated workforces and supply chains. It was a real pleasure to speak at an event which does not rest on past success, but also examines opportunity for the future in an evolving relationship.”

Granite PR Founder and MD and Gateway series creator Brett Jackson added: “We were delighted to successfully deliver our third Gateway of the year. Yet again, the appetite for this kind of connectivity surpassed our expectations and we are very grateful to the many speakers, delegates and supporters who helped us to deliver this international event for the seventh consecutive year.”

The 2020 Gateway series will continue with the Aberdeen-Abu Dhabi/UAE Gateway on November 10th and 11th. To find out more, visit www.granitepr.co.uk
