Advisory group seeks input for future woodland growth.
The Woodland Expansion Advisory Group, which consists of farmers, foresters, conservation, community and land experts, will be working together over the coming months to identify which types of land are best suited for tree planting in Scotland, and how such an expansion of woodland cover should take place. Further details, including membership of the group, are available at www.forestry.gov.uk/weag.
The Group is looking for views or experiences that you think would be helpful to share. They are particularly interested to hear about:
1) Where you see opportunities for woodland expansion that are not currently being taken up
2) Examples of where woodland expansion comes into conflict with other land management objectives
3) The way that conflicts between woodland expansion and other land management objectives could be better resolved in future
