The Employer Recruitment Incentive Through Skills Development Scotland

Recruiting and training new staff can be extremely difficult during an economic downturn. However, there's help available with the Employer Recruitment Incentive from Skills Development Scotland. The Employer Recruitment Incentive is part of SDS's package of support for business and is supported by the Scottish Government and the European Social Fund.

Businesses can access up to £2,000 when they take on someone as an employee or Modern Apprentice who has gone through one of SDS's pre-employment programmes, such as Get Ready for Work.

There are two levels of incentive depending on the size of the company.

For companies with 50 to 250 employees, a £1,000 incentive is available, while businesses with fewer than 50 staff qualify for an additional £1,000.

Employers with more than 250 staff are eligible for £1,000 when they take on an under 18 who has experienced some barriers to work.
