Ice rink pays tribute to NHS & key workers

To the relief of local curlers and ice skaters Forfar Indoor Sports re-opened its ice pads on Monday 19th October following extremely testing COVID planning and protocols.

As a tribute to the NHS and other keyworkers the new ice pads are adorned with colourful rainbow transfers for all to fully appreciate the hard work and commitment of all those who have dedicated so much to help us combat this terrible virus.

Mike Ferguson, Managing Director says ‘We are delighted to be in a position to re-open our doors and welcome back our bowlers, curlers and ice skaters. It has been a very testing start to the season with all the necessary protocols and practices being put in place to ensure our members and visitors can enjoy their leisure activities in a safe, health, clean and hopefully a relaxed manner. When planning our ice design we wanted to recognise the efforts of the NHS and other key workers; such as all the shop staff that have been serving, the agricultural workers who have kept our food shelves stocked and the oil rig  workers keeping fuel supplies going amongst many other key workers, and what better way than logo’s on our ice for all the see”

Pictures of the ice and other activities at Forfar Indoor Sports can be viewed on their website (www.fis.scot) or via their facebook page.
