KR Group Ltd, a North-east of Scotland based steel, cladding and solutions company have become a member of the Metal Cladding and Roofing Manufacturers Association (MCRMA).

Despite many setbacks for the construction industry during the Covid-19 pandemic, KR Group have become one of the few Scottish members of the MCMRA, an organisation who support those who provide innovative and sustainable approaches to building envelope solutions for metal-based roofing and cladding systems.

Nicola Fraser, Business Director of KR Group said “We are pleased to have been accepted by the MCRMA as installation members, to demonstrate our commitment to standards in the industry. Our team of cladding experts and trainees will benefit from the resources and insights available and as company directors, Kenny Robertson and I are enthusiastic about working in partnership with the association to help drive forward best, innovative practise”.

Members of the MCRMA are selected due to their industry recognition and involvement in some of the industry’s most prestigious buildings, as well as the creation of innovative designs that not only focus on appearance but encompass and offer sustainable solutions and cost-effective quality materials for clients.

Trading for over 20 years with a highly experienced team, KR Group provide a first-class service through all stages of delivery, all whilst placing high value on customer satisfaction and corporate responsibility. Whether it be large or small scale projects, local or national, everyone involved is greatly valued; a clear reflection on KR Group’s customer orientated and family owned values.

Operating in a variety of sectors one of KR Group’s most notable projects in 2020 was being contracted by Accio Consult and Construct to erect the frames for the new Amazon Warehouses at Portlethen and to install safety nets, cladding, rainwater goods and ancillary steel. A great challenge for the team completed to a high specification.

KR Group were also involved in the restoration and extension of the Scottish Design Awards Winner 2020, the Saltoun Square building in Fraserburgh by installing rainscreen cladding on the extension of the listed Town House as part of the Fraserburgh 2021 regeneration project, allowing for the boldly creative design to become a reality for Moxon Architects and for client Aberdeenshire council.

Whilst harnessing creativity from procurement to delivery, members of the MCRMA are also required to minimise adverse environmental impact, with KR Group continuously working to be sustainable by bringing all excess materials back to their Newburgh base to sort out for reuse or distribution to the public or others, as well as advocating for repair over replace and the use of second hand materials when possible in projects.

Throughout their involvement in large and small scale local and national projects, KR Group’s MCRMA membership will allow them to have closer access to industry bodies and standards committees providing them with more industry wide knowledge and best practice throughout its services.
