Thank you for Having Your Say in the Parking Survey

Many thanks to the 3000-plus people who took part in the recent survey on parking in Angus.

The public survey is a key part of the ongoing review of on and off-street parking in the county and has been aimed at finding out about people’s expectations and requirements of parking in Angus.

Responses, including the many hundreds of comments and suggestions provided, will help to inform the Parking Review Member Officers Working Group’s conclusions and results of the survey will be published in the coming weeks.

Communities Convener, Cllr Mark Salmond, who chairs the group, said: “This was an excellent response rate to a survey, which has been carried out at a time when people have Christmas on their minds and, of course, the enduring impact of Covid-19 to contend with.

“Thanks to each and every one of you who took time out to complete this survey.

“It is now the review group’s responsibility to look at your responses and consider them in detail before making any recommendations that must also take environmental and economic impacts into account.

“While that is a process that we will complete diligently in the coming weeks, it is already clear to us that those who took time to respond were both informed and passionate about parking in Angus.

“Nowhere was this more apparent than in the 1600 or so comments and suggestions made as part of the survey. Where responses to questions were sought by people filling out the survey, Council Officers are committed to responding to each one.

“The MOWG will give the survey results for on and off-street parking its fullest consideration. These will be used to inform decisions by the Council and will be published early in this new year.”

Off-street parking charges in Angus are currently suspended at part of the Council’s Coronavirus pandemic response.
