I love Mondays!

Hands up who loves a Monday? This all depends on how much you love the thing you do or not! Why do I love Mondays? Because it is the start of another week of moving towards my goals whilst helping others move towards theirs. Today was no different. I started with an 8:30am meeting with a new client starting on their journey with me on my coaching programme, before meeting with Dundee City Council’s Education Department to discuss the ever-growing Growth Mindset Programme in schools.

I then delivered a Mindset workshop to the Senior Management Team of Leisure and Culture Dundee and how mindset will support staff returning from almost a year’s furlough leave, whilst how mindset can support leaders too in these uncertain times.

Another weekly meeting with another coaching client at lunchtime on Zoom, then the day culminating with 2 more coaching groups at 5pm for those on my Thinking into Results programme and 7pm for those on the Mindset Reset programme. And breathe! Did I mention I get up at 5am?

Training Tuesday

Training seemed to be the name of the game today. I train myself as part of my morning routine, I decided to do the Camperdown 5k Park Run route, that was following a 6:30am socially distanced walk and talk with one of my coaching clients (yes I am that accommodating at 121’s).

I delivered mindset training to Leisure and Culture staff returning to work, before planning training over lunch time for the Under 15 squad I coach at Dundee Football Club’s Youth Academy.

A few virtual coffees with a couple of inspirational colleagues and friends in Dundee, before being trained myself from the one and only Mr Bob Proctor between 3 & 5pm as part of my role as a Proctor Gallagher Institute Consultant. Getting his 60 years+ knowledge in coaching whilst engaging with colleagues in every part of the world, is one of the highlights of my week.

I then attended training with my squad between 5:30 & 7pm, finishing with attending a Mindset Training with a PGI colleague. Oh my mistake, I finished with Fing! By David Walliams with my 7 year old. Lights Out!

From Dundee to Melbourne

Starting the day in Dundee with another early start with a 6:30am walk and talk with another client, discussing big plans for 2021. This set me up with such amazing energy levels to present to over 70 staff at Thornton’s law, one of a series of 8 workshops I am delivering to the organisation. The energy on the call was also amazing, people from all over the country.

Had another lovely walk along the River Tay with a potential business partner before another workshop to an extended management team in an organisation again having to facilitate the return to work for staff.

At 4pm I was part of another global call on helping people fulfil their potential, our breakout room had representation from Slovakia, Canada, Germany, USA and Ireland. Just a wonderful bunch of humans!

I then had the privilege of delivering day 3 of my 5 day Mindset Masterclass in my facebook page (4) Your Best Self | Facebook to 550 group members from Italy, New Zealand, Czech Republic and Fintry (oh I forgot to say last 2 days I was doing this). And I had the absolute pleasure to be asked to speak on a call in Melbourne on my journey as a PGI consultant. Sleeping is not a problem!!

The Graveyard is one of my favourite places

“The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry out their dream.”  Les Brown

4 times a week my running route takes me via a local graveyard. And it inspires me every time! I practice gratitude regularly and today; I had such an enormous sense of gratitude. Why, because today, I get to make a difference. I get to stretch myself. I get to spend time with the ones I love.

Today I get again to present to another successful corporate organisation, meet with the football club I supported as a boy to help move it forward, catch up with a friend who is responsible for the Scottish Student Sports Associations and help them, provide 121 support to clients, train the up-and-coming future football players for Dundee and Scotland and support Dundee’s schools teachers on their ever-increasing demanding roles.

Then I get to read with my little girl and listen to her grow and develop into a lovely, caring, confident individual. And fall asleep an incredibly happy man!

TGI……The Start of Another 3 Day Course – The Blueprint to Success

Just when you were thinking, right Jamie, time for a well-earned weekend off…

The one thing I love about what I do, is that I do not want days to end, or wish days, weeks, months away from life. I do not wish for the weekend. Now do not get me wrong, at the end of the game I need rest to recharge, recuperate and revitalise. Rest is vitally important for peak performance. But, when you are in the middle of the most important game of your life, and you are in the last 5 minutes, there is still a chance to get a result. And we all have deep reservoirs of potential to get the results we hope and wish for. Today was the start of a course with another 250 colleagues from across the world.

Each day, I still start my day at 5am. “You are aff yir hade” I hear from the stands. One might look nuts, but there is method to this madness. As a certain Mr Rohn said, “Don’t Wish it was Easier, Wish you were Better!”
