Terms & Conditions

Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce

Membership Terms and Conditions

Our aim is to ensure that you have a positive and valuable experience throughout your Membership with Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce (“the Chamber”). We hope you will benefit fully from the range of services and opportunities we offer.

These Terms and Conditions form the basis of the legal relationship between a Member and Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce. By proceeding with the registration or joining process, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Membership Eligibility

Membership is open to all companies and organisations, regardless of location. Members do not need to have a base in the Dundee & Angus area to join.

Membership is open to:

  • Companies, corporations, firms and other organisations;
  • Separate business divisions (but not individual departments within the same organisation);
  • Individuals trading on their own account;
  • Members of professions and voluntary, social or public sector organisations with an interest in commerce, industry, trade or ancillary services.

Membership is a business entitlement rather than a personal one. All employees of a Member organisation may use Chamber services and benefits when acting on behalf of their employer.

Groups of Companies

Where a company that forms part of a group of companies successfully applies for membership, this does not entitle the parent company or any other subsidiary of the parent company to become a Member. Each company in the group shall be required to apply separately for membership or the parent shall take out a collective membership that embraces all parts of the group.[GC1]

  • Membership operates on a choice based tiered model.
  • Members can select the tier that best aligns with their business needs.
  • Membership fees are non-refundable once payment is received, except where cancellation is made within the cooling-off period (see below).
  • Membership is non-transferable between businesses or other Chambers.
  • Payment must be made within 30 days of the invoice date. If payment is not received within this timeframe, the Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to suspend your access to Chamber services and benefits until payment is received.

If payment is not received within this timeframe, the Chamber reserves the right to suspend services and benefits until payment is made.

Where misleading information is supplied that affects subscription calculation, the Chamber reserves the right to cancel membership if the correct fee is not paid. No refund will be given in such cases.

The Chamber plans to increase membership fees annually on 1 January by 3% or the annual RPI percentage (whichever is greater).

Cooling-Off Period

By submitting a membership application, you enter into a legal agreement with the Chamber. You may cancel the agreement within 14 days of the date of joining by notifying the Chamber in writing. Any fees paid during this period will be refunded in full.

Membership Termination

A Member may terminate his/its membership by giving notice in writing at least one month before the day when his/its next subscription is due.

The Chamber will be entitled to cancel your membership if any outstanding fees, including but not limited to the subscription fee, remain unpaid for a period of three months after the date that payment is due; you have behaved in an inappropriate manner towards other members or towards The Chamber; you bring The Chamber or its reputation and good standing into disrepute through your actions; you breached these terms and conditions.

Partner and Third-Party Offers

From time to time, the Chamber may share details of exclusive benefits available through our carefully selected partners (e.g. healthcare, HR, tax, or business services). You may opt out of receiving such communications at any time.

Any agreements made between a Member and a Chamber partner are solely between those two parties. The Chamber accepts no liability for any loss, cost, or damage arising from such arrangements.

Changes to Membership Benefits

The Chamber regularly reviews and refreshes its range of membership benefits to ensure they remain valuable and relevant. From time to time, benefits may change, but we will always aim to add value and improve the overall membership experience.

Chamber Communications

Regular communication with Members by email, phone, and social media is an integral part of membership. We aim to contact you only with information relevant to your business interests. You may request to stop receiving specific categories of communication at any time.

Each Member is entitled to one listing in the online Members Directory under one company name. Directory contact information may include your company name, address, phone, email, website, and principal contact.

Use of directory information is restricted to legitimate business introductions and may not be used to compile marketing lists or shared with third parties, in accordance with GDPR.
