The evening will also see the launch of the Chamber Business Champion Award with a chance to win £7,500 worth of advertising with STV Dundee as part of the STV Business Growth Fund.

Chamber Business Champion Award 2019

Our inaugural Chamber Business Champion Award will invite members to nominate themselves to win this prestigious award. We'll be looking for Chamber members to demonstrate that their business is a Champion of Dundee & Angus. We know that there are many organisations who champion the region on a regular basis but the stories aren't always told.

Members will have the opportunity to tell their story, from supporting the local economy to promoting the region, working with local third sector organisations, connecting with local businesses to trade with and everything in between!

Iain Gulland, Chief Executive Officer, Zero Waste Scotland

Iain is Chief Executive of Zero Waste Scotland and previously led its predecessor programme, WRAP Scotland.

Zero Waste Scotland leads on the delivery of the Scottish Government’s Circular Economy strategy and other low carbon policy priorities, and is at the forefront of efforts to create a resource efficient, circular economy.

Iain has more than 25 years’ experience in sustainable resource management, including initiating recycling systems in the public and third sectors. He is the current President of the Association of Cities and Regions for Sustainable Resource Management (ACR+) and he is a member of a number of Scottish Government strategic groups including the Economy and Environment Leaders Group, the Board of the Low Carbon Infrastructure Transition Programme and the Expert Panel on Environmental Charges. He was voted the ‘most influential person in the UK waste and resource efficiency sector’ in 2014 by Resource Magazine, and he was granted Fellowship of Chartered Institution of Wastes Management in 2016.

We'll also be joined on the evening by Peter Reilly, Commercial Director with STV who will talk more about the Growth Fund and the opportunities available to help businesses grow and develop.

Peter joined STV in September 2010 as Commercial Director. Peter has extensive broadcast experience, including 18 years working for ITV in commercial roles based in London and Leeds. Lead by Peter, STV's commercial division offers an innovative, multi-platform approach to advertising solutions, serviced from STV's Scottish and London offices. The commercial team has achieved significant growth by developing strong relationships with advertisers: reaching out to the business community in Scotland and to nationally-based advertisers seeking to speak directly to Scottish consumers.

Along with nominations opening on the evening we'll also have an inspiring guest speaker after dinner, details of the speaker will be available in due course.

Our Chamber Champion initiative is a way for us to recognise those people who recommend us, who bring new people into the Chamber, and who bang the drum for Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce.
