What does 'local food' mean to you? It doesn't matter if you're selling, growing, serving or just eating food, what matters is the approach the region has to local food. Good local food helps to grow the economy, nourish local communities and support a sustainable environment.

ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR THE EVENT IS NOW CLOSED, PLEASE EMAIL SARAHYOUNG@DUNDEEANDANGUSCHAMBER.CO.UK SHOULD YOU WISH TO ATTEND.

This session will be a formal public consultation of which stakeholders views will be captured and fed back to Government. Dundee City Council, Angus Council and Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce invite anyone interested in taking part in the consultation to register to attend.

This interactive workshop will look at how the Scottish Governments new local food plan (LFP), if done well, will have a huge positive impact on the communities, economies and environment of Scotland - and beyond. It will give everyone opportunities to explore what this could mean for where you live, and we hope it will help you to complete the consultation in an informed way.

During this workshop we'll look to discuss:

  • Why is local food important?
  • What could a Local Food Plan look like?
  • How can Scotland grow more of what it eats and eat more of what it grows?
  • How can a local food plan improve the health and wellbeing of everyone in Scotland?
  • How can a local food plan make the maximum positive impact on our environment and biodiversity?

Local Food for Everyone Consultation

Everyone, from private individuals to businesses and organisations are invited to help shape a local food strategy for Scotland. This consultation is the first stage in a strategy to make high quality food accessible to all and promote the benefits of local food.
