By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to understand the nature of conflicts, apply effective communication techniques, and foster a culture of open communication within their organizations. Additionally, the workshop aims to enhance interpersonal relationships in the business world, leading to more collaborative and productive work environments.

Avoid conflicts and solve them when they do:
It is not uncommon for conflicts to arise between services and the communities using them. We hope that by teaching people about how conflicts work and how to recognise and understand your own and others’ interests and needs, we can help solve some of these conflicts before they happen reducing stress for both workers and refugees.

Reduce staff stress and burnout:
Learning emotional self-regulation techniques can help you keep your cool in stressful situations, especially when dealing with people who are themselves stressed and desperate. This personal emotional awareness also helps staff avoid burnout, particularly when dealing with complex and traumatic cases.

Learn to communicate effectively and deal with toxic communication:
The techniques developed by American psychologist Marshall Rosenberg are used by mediators, negotiators and other professionals across the world. His approach gives a framework to understand and communicate with others that can all honest and effective communication even in the most challenging of circumstances. These techniques can even be used to more effectively work with someone who is using toxic communication.

Understand the Ukrainian culture to better communicate with them and help them integrate:
Cultural differences often arise as strategies of communication and behaviour used in daily life. By better understanding each other, we can reduce and even avoid conflicts arising from misunderstanding. We can understand how to work together more effectively and understand how to aid people to better integrate into their new communities. Additionally, many Ukrainians are experiencing the trauma of war and being forced to leave their homes. Understanding the cultural implications of life in a new country can help provide better and more effective services.
