In Your Shoes - Rebecca Stott, DACC

Feeling like a grown up with my first proper full-time job!

All grown up

Today marks the first day as a fulltime member of staff at the Chamber! Alison and I discussed some exciting projects and training that I will soon be involved in, and I set dates & venues for the next six DACC123 member-invite lunches. Working all day isn't so bad with views like ours...

New magazine arrives!

The newest edition of InCommerce arrived today! The electronic copy is on our website and your copies should be with you already, including the bulk copies which sit on many reception desks & boardroom tables across Dundee & Angus. We have a new glossy cover! In the afternoon I went out with Eve to visit Iain Waddell at Tayside Contracts. They have renewed their membership so we presented him with their certificate.

Member Reception

We had our latest Member Reception with DC Thomson to let our members know about the Courier Business Awards at DundeeOne. The venue looks out over the waterfront so we all had a chance to see the start of the V&A and Dundee's Waterfront developments - a great crowd turned out to network and enjoy the views.

Training begins

I’m going through my exporting training so that we can expand the hours and the range of services we offer for exporting and internationalisation for members. I'm meeting with Shirley Taylor, our Export Services Coordinator today to see how to get started. In the afternoon I went with Eve to visit Intona’s premises for a potential event.

Magazine planning

As soon as the previous magazine is printed and distributed we start work on the next. I'm planning what goes into the next edition and who is to be featured. The week flies in when you're busy - am loving that it's sandal weather at long last!
