Overgate in Dundee city centre will this weekend be upping its fantastic festive offering with the launch of an unmissable three-day Christmas market run by URBAN FOOD FEST.
The vibrant Christmas market, located outside Costa between the centre and The Steeple, will see a kaleidoscope of colourful street food and drink trucks arrive in the city for this exciting debut. A giant covered yurt decorated with vintage furniture and seating, and plenty outdoor heaters, will ensure visitors are kept warm and dry.
URBAN FOOD FEST will operate 12pm - 10pm this Friday 15th and Saturday 16th and 12pm - 7pm on Sunday 17th December.
Tastebuds will be tantalised with a menu spanning savoury and sweet, as well as some of the finest home-grown food and drink stars. These include:
PRIME STREET FOOD serving Asian and Mexican fusion burgers made with local meats, chickpea, tomato and pesto burgers, and chips with lemon and parmesan.
WILD FIRE PIZZA serving homemade wood fired pizza with meat and vegetarian toppings including roasted vegetables, olives, salami, fresh basil, mozzarella and goats cheese.
WILD AND SMOKY serving barbecued roast pork, steak burger, smoked mac ‘n’ cheese, moinks (smoked meatballs wrapped in bacon in barbecue sauce), festive smoked turkey, and chips (crispy fried in beef dripping).
THE PRAGUE SHACK serving beef goulash with dumplings, duck confit with braised red cabbage and dumplings, chicken schnitzel with Christmassy potato salad and Czech rosti with spices & sauerkraut.
THE CREPE SHACK serving a selection of sweet and savoury crepes including an indulgent s'more crepe and a selection of cold drinks.
THE LITTLE TIPPLE TRAILER serving local treats including the marmalade-inspired Dundee Gin, 71 Brewing craft beers, Ogilvy spirit cocktails and Cairn o’ Mohr cider, as well as mulled wine and Baileys hot chocolate.
Food will be accessibly priced between £4 and £10. All traders will take cash and most will accept credit card payment too.
Overgate’s Christmas Market is guaranteed to warm up this weekend’s shopping pleasures, and with the much anticipated SANTAGRAM grotto also launching this Friday in Overgate and running until the 23rd of December, a magical festive countdown is promised.
