RSB Lindsays in Dundee have reached the half way point in their year of fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Dundee solicitors and estate agents chose Macmillan Cancer Support as their first charity partnership in the summer of 2018. Since then the firm has held a number of fundraising activities including a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, Quiz Night and one member of staff took part in ‘Brave the Shave’. So far the firm has raised over £2200 for this cause and has already got plans for the coming months, including a Curling Event.
A team of staff members from RSB Lindsays will try their hand at curling for the day at Dundee Ice Arena alongside a team from Macmillan’s Move More Dundee project. Move More Dundee is a gentle exercise programme for those currently going through cancer treatment or those who are no longer receiving treatment. Move More Dundee is a partnership project between Macmillan, Leisure and Culture Dundee, Paths for All and NHS Tayside. Both teams, who have no previous curling experience, will train throughout the day on Tuesday 19th of February with the assistance of Scottish Curling who have kindly donated coaches and equipment for the event. Both teams will then compete during the evening in a head to head match. The teams are fundraising through sponsorship for the challenge and will be collecting during the evening match. Members of the public are welcome to attend and cheer on these fantastic teams!
