Bring your brilliant business idea to full fruition with 'Think Big 2013'.

Think Big sponsorsThe 'Think Big' Business Ideas Competition is designed to find the business successes of the future. The winners will share a ten thousand pound prize and will have the benefit of expert advice from a range of business gurus.

The competition is sponsored by Angus College, Angus Council, Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce, The Federation of Small Businesses, Henderson Loggie Chartered Accountants, Mackays and the Angus Centre for Enterprise.

There are two possible categories to enter; 'New Ideas' and 'Business Growth'. If you're shortlisted you will be asked to pitch to the judging panel made up from experienced entrepreneurs and specialist business leaders. It's a great way to kick-start your business or develop a fledgling business and receive additional, invaluable advice and support, gain experience of pitching to potential investors, not to mention gaining publicity and recognition for your idea.

Last year's winners, Katherine Adamson of Masterpiece Memorials and runner-up Kate Pickering from Vanilla Ink have gone from strength to strength. Overall winner, Katherine from Errol has used the money to give her Memorial headstone business the kick start it needed. Katherine says,
'I was quite timid about my idea to begin with, but entering the competition has not only boosted my business, it has boosted my confidence too. I'm now working regularly with stonemasons creating original artwork for headstones and the response I've had is amazing.'

Kate Pickering, who has created an 'incubator' space for fledgling  jewellery designers in Dundee, says,
'Don't be shy, just go for it. Even if you don't win, it's great practice for presenting your business and for crystallising your ideas. The judges made me come at my business from a different angle and forced me to think about the commercial aspect as well as the artistic one. It's a great idea.'

All entries should be in by Friday May 24th.
