Carolina House Trust to address its environmental impact with staff action group

Like all organisations striving to be sustainable, Carolina House Trust has a responsibility to positively impact the environment and reduce our contribution to climate change.

Amongst the team at CHT, and across our services, we have recognised there are individuals who are particularly passionate about environmental issues and they have formed an environmental action group that has been self-titled, ‘The Wombles’.

Formed in 2020, The Wombles staff group’s mission is to plan activities that make CHT more environmentally responsible. Activities will span across all our operations, but also offer educational opportunities to our children and young people in line with our outdoor therapeutic strategy, independent living skills and other appropriate participation activities.

More initiatives will be announced as the group develops but in the next few months you will see content and suggested activities driven by international environmental awareness and education days on our website, social media and internal communications.
