Miller Hendry announces new appointment and promotions in Perth and Dundee

Leading Tayside legal and estate agency firm Miller Hendry has made three promotions at its Perth and Dundee offices.

Lindsay Kirkwood has been promoted to Associate in the Private Client department after five years with the firm having started as a trainee in 2015. Based in Miller Hendry’s Dundee office, Lindsay graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 2014 with an LLB Honours degree in Law before going on to complete her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice in 2015.

Lindsay deals with a range of client services including Wills and Estate Planning, Powers of Attorney and Long Term Care Planning.

Meanwhile, Michael Johnston and Samera Ali have been promoted to Senior Solicitors.

Michael, who joined Miller Hendry in 2017, works within the firm’s Residential Property Department in the Perth office. Michael specialises in purchases and sales of residential property, security work, title disputes and transfers of title.

Samera has worked in the firm’s Private Client team in Perth, since joining in 2018, assisting clients with their succession planning and helping them prepare for the future. Working on a range of Private Client issues, Samera specialises in dealing with Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts and Executries.

We are also pleased to welcome Sharon Somerville to the Commercial team as a Senior Corporate Solicitor based in our Dundee office. Sharon specialises in a broad range of corporate and commercial work, including company and business acquisitions and disposals, corporate reorganisations, commercial contracts and intellectual property.

Sharon graduated from the University of Dundee with an LLB Honours Degree in English Law with Accountancy, following which she gained experience working in the finance, fashion and music industries, before returning to Dundee in 2013 to convert to Scots Law and obtain her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. Sharon worked as a corporate lawyer in the central belt before joining us in December.
