One of Scotland’s most popular visitor attractions is inviting people to relax, unwind and connect with nature this weekend.

Glamis Castle, in partnership with Forfar-based Sattva Wellness, is hosting a Wellness Weekend on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th April featuring a series of workshops with a focus on self-care. Visitors will be able to enjoy meditation workshops, yoga for adults and children, fitness workshops for pre and post-natal women, reflexology sessions as well as an array of massage therapies.

A number of wellness businesses will also be at the castle to showcase and sell their products including The Holistic Candle Company, Spice Harmony, Broughty Blends and Tannery Direct and many others.

A family friendly event, wellness workshop tickets include access to the castle’s spectacular grounds so visitors can explore the many green spaces during the event. On Easter Sunday there will be an Easter egg hunt and each afternoon there will be wood carving workshops for younger visitors to enjoy.

The Castle Kitchen Restaurant will be open from 11.00am-4.00pm each day for lunch and Afternoon Tea. The Hub Café, situated next to the Pavilion Gift Shop, will also be open where visitors can pick up something to eat or drink on the move.

Organisers hope that the combination of relaxing workshops in the green and natural surrounding of Glamis Castle and gardens will help people unwind. Helen Buchanan, General Manager at Glamis Castle, said:

“People have such busy lives and sometimes it’s hard to find time to unwind and take a breather. We hope many people will come along to our Wellness Weekend at Glamis Castle to do just that and enjoy everything our grounds have to offer too. We are also delighted to be partnering with Sattva Wellness to bring this event to life and welcoming so many local businesses to be part of the weekend.”

Glamis is marking its 650th anniversary this year with a series of celebrations including the launch of the Children of Glamis Exhibition, a commemorative book called A Glamis Treasury. The castle also recently launched a special 650th gin in collaboration with local gin distillers The Gin Bothy.

Glamis Castle is open to visitors until October 31, 2022 and Friends of Glamis annual passes are available giving families unlimited access for the entirety of the open season. To find out more go to: https://www.glamis-castle.co.uk/friends-of-glamis-members/
