What a fantastic 2 day event we had with the Dubai Advantage Conference on 21st and 22nd of June, we got to meet so many interesting companies and hear about how they do it back in the UAE.
Monday saw the Dubai delegation giving presentations to attendees as well as opportunities to partner and trade with their businesses going forward. After the presentations there was time for individual B2B sessions which saw valuable introductions and conversations to follow up.
Tuesday saw us all head to Al-Maktoum College where we heard from Councillor John Alexander about current and proposed initiatives and projects for Dundee as well as the City Centre Strategic Investment Plan. We then heard from Greig Coull from Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc giving us insight into the mission and ambition of the parc as well as a progress update. Finally we had a Q&A panel session with representatives from V&A, Abertay University, University of Dundee and Zudu talking about how we can work closer with our sister city Dubai.
All in all it was a fantastic 2 days with everyone giving such positive feedback and most importantly the connections and conversations that have been made will be invaluable for local businesses and Dundee and Angus in general.
