Fully funded places available on Open University Microcredentials

I wanted to let you know that a few days before the Christmas break, an announcement was received from Scottish Government that confirmed that the Flexible Workforce Development Fund would not be running in the current or next academic year.

As I know that skill shortages continue to be an issue for local businesses, I wanted to make you aware of an alternative opportunity that could be beneficial to your members.

The OU in Scotland is currently offering some fully-funded places on our accredited Microcredential courses. These courses run from 10 – 12 weeks and are designed for people looking to gain new skills and knowledge for work. The courses are delivered online and are offered at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They can give you practical skills that you can immediately apply to your work. Courses on offer include subject areas such as:

·         Financial accounting

·         Project Management

·         Sustainability

·         Mental Health

·         People Management

·         Leadership

·         Change Management

·         Marketing

More information about the courses and the application form can be found at https://www.open.ac.uk/courses/choose/scotland-micro.

The deadline for applications is 4th February 2024. If you have any questions, please contact Page Munro at page.munro@open.ac.uk.
