A Dundee IT support company has celebrated its tenth year in business in true Antarctic style!

Piped onboard, the Shackleton Technologies team of 13 were given a personal tour of the ship before enjoying an evening meal and drinks in the main board room of RRS Discovery to mark their achievements, surrounded by the cabins of the officers including Sir Ernest Shackleton himself.

The company, which launched with just three staff in 2004, helps businesses work more effectively and profitably by providing strategic IT advice and support. Shackleton has increased its turnover to £1M, a 30% within the last financial year, attributing its growth to its outstanding 99.4% customer satisfaction rating on all work completed, together with its well-earned accreditations, from the Microsoft Partner award to the CompTIA IT Business Trustmark.

Steve Ross, Managing Director said, “As corporate sponsors of Dundee Heritage Trust, we were eager to give our staff a night to remember within the highly appropriate and uplifting surroundings of RRS Discovery.  Just like Sir Ernest Shackleton, every leader needs a fantastic team and, just like Shackleton’s Antarctic expedition, we have come on an incredible journey in these ten years.  As a result, there really was no better place in which to mark our achievements and to thank our highly committed team.”
