Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce invites you to attend the first Chamber Training Academy within Dundee & Angus. The Chamber has teamed up with Chamber members to form a programme of training sessions to fit your needs. The Academy covers a range of topics with the aim of providing you, your staff and your business with the correct skills to continue being well trained and successful. TITLE: Social Media at Work: What is and isn’t Acceptable

WHAT TO EXPECT:This workshop will give you a practical insight to the problems that employers face and offer solutions that can be implemented into every business.The workshop delivers the learning points as a live play which will focus on three areas where issues in relation to employee use of social media most frequently arise; recruitment, discipline and post termination contractual protections.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Alison is an early adopter of social media for business and has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of most of the main platforms that organisations would find useful in reaching and communicating with their audiences. This training session covers the use of social media and how it fits into marketing plans – it will cover the various platforms that can be used, and how you can make social media part of your regular marketing strategy without it taking over your life.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Immigration is becoming a much more time consuming aspect of the recruitment process, particularly when organisations are seeking to recruit highly skilled staff. From engineering to games and marketing to IT, almost any type of recruitment can have an immigration aspect.  UK Immigration Law specialist Jamie Kerr will cover everything that employers need to know about recruiting non EU staff and preventing illegal working. He will introduce sponsor licensing and give an overview of the Tier 2 system, touching on compliance issues around advertising jobs and meeting the Resident Labour Market Test.

TITLE: Getting Paid: Key Tips For Debt Recovery
TRAINER: MacRoberts -Leon Breakey and Lynsay Cargill  (Commercial Dispute Resolution Partner and Associate).
WHAT TO EXPECT: Businesses continue to feel the pressure to get paid on time and improve their cash flow. This seminar will provide key tips for debt recovery management, including steps that you can take to improve your chances of getting paid and practical advice on what you can do if you are not getting paid. The seminar will also explain formal routes for recovering sums due including by way of demand letters and court actions.
