A new cruise, which will set sail from Dundee next spring, could provide the city with a sizeable economic boost, according to a city business leader.
The 46,000-tonne Magellan will leave the city for three seven-day trips to Norway on March 29, and April 5 and 12.
Colin Ramsay, owner of Ramsay World Travel, which is marketing the cruise, says it could be a significant step forward in marketing Dundee as a cruise destination.
The £1 billion waterfront project has long been touted as a potential pull for cruise companies to set up berth in the city.
Mr Ramsay said: “It’s fantastic for the city, because we will undoubtedly see people staying for a couple of nights, either before or after the cruise.”
Interest in the cruise has been incredibly high, according to Mr Ramsay.
“It has been absolutely astounding,” he said.
“We haven’t seen a reaction like this in 25 years. People are coming in, having a quick look at the brochure and booking there and then.
“We’ve had more than 150 people book already.”
Tim Allan, president of Dundee Chamber of Commerce, said: “We have had cruises docking in Dundee before, but it’s important to build a coordinated, integrated North Sea tourist network.”
