Following the success of The Courier Business Awards 2013, this year’s event welcomed over 500 business men and women.  The evening was hosted by comedian and presenter Hugh Dennis (Mock the Week, Outnumbered and The Now Show), and awards were presented across a number of categories including Growth Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year and Young Business of the Year.  Two special awards were also presented; Mackays Ltd won Business of the Year and David Dorward, Chief Executive of Dundee City Council won the Outstanding Contribution Award.

The Courier Editor Richard Neville said, “The response from local businesses to The Courier Business Awards has been phenomenal and the atmosphere tonight was second to none.

“We introduced the awards last year and they’ve gone from strength to strength.  It’s a great way to celebrate the very best in local business from Perthshire, Fife, Angus and The Mearns and Dundee and this year, the competition was tough with very strong entries.  Congratulations to all the winners and to all those who were shortlisted.  I’m already looking forward to next year’s event.”
