One of Dundee and Scotland’s leading charitable organisations recognised its staffs’ learning achievements in style at an event at the city’s Discovery Point last night.

Over 70 staff members and guests from across Scotland gathered at the Hillcrest Group of Companies’ Celebrating Achievement event to mark individual successes and qualifications gained by staff over the past 18 months.

The ceremony was opened by Angela Linton, Hillcrest Group Chief Executive, who said: “I would like to congratulate everyone for their fantastic achievements; they have done themselves and the Hillcrest Group of Companies proud.

“It is great to see so many people from across the Group achieving qualifications and completing learning opportunities.

“We recognised the achievements of 30 people tonight which is definitely something to be celebrated.”

Staff achievements ranged from qualifications in Building Construction and Health and Social Care to Coaching and Money Advice certifications.

Amongst the achievers was Natasha Inglis who is in the running for Apprentice of the Year at The Courier’s Business Awards next month.  Natasha was recognised for her achievement in obtaining her SVQ Level 2 in Business & Administration.

Angela Linton continued:  “Our staff team is our greatest asset and we recognise that continued learning is vital in maintaining a workforce equipped to deliver our customers the best service possible and to enable the organisation to achieve its goals and ambitions.”

Providing housing, care, training, skills and employment opportunities, the Hillcrest Group of Companies consists of 6 trading companies; Hillcrest Housing Association, Gowrie Care, Craigowl Communities, Northern Housing Company, Hillcrest Enterprises and Hillcrest Maintenance Services.

After the awards ceremony was closed by Alan Russell, the conveyor of Hillcrest’s Audit and General Purpose Committee, the certificate recipients had their photographs taken against inspiring backdrop of the RSS Discovery.
