Safety Expo Launches Tayside Event

The Safety Expo, an event dedicated to showcasing safety-related solutions, products and services, is set to travel to Tayside for the first time on Thursday, 27 October 2016. The event’s organisers, practical health and safety training provider AquaTerra Training Ltd and safety print specialists XIC, have partnered with Dundee and Angus College to allow Angus-based QHSE professionals to access training providers, workwear and PPE specialists, equipment demonstrations and safety literature specialists under one roof.

Established in 2015, the Safety Expo has been held in AquaTerra Training’s Kintore Headquarters since its inception. The Tayside event will continue to combine educational content, in the form of practical demonstrations and speaker presentations, with an exhibition area for browsing. Participating organisations include safety-related product manufacturers and service providers from both the Aberdeenshire and Tayside regions.

A new feature of the Safety Expo Tayside is the introduction of a dedicated morning slot from 10am to 11.30am for students of Dundee and Angus College.  The organisers hope to encourage those who are studying related courses to come along and explore the realms of health and safety and expose them to some of the latest HSEQ technologies and practices.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Dundee and Angus College to bring the Safety Expo to Tayside,” says Stephen Ferguson, Business Development Manager, AquaTerra Training Ltd. “The event formula allows HSEQ professionals from all sectors to speak directly to locally-based safety specialists about how best to meet their own health and safety goals.

“Health and safety failures cost British employers an average of up to £2.8 billion per year, which is a sobering statistic.  Our exhibitors are keen to work with organisations to prevent accidents and injury in the workplace, and share knowledge and promote good practice in health and safety to the new student audience.”

Safety Expo Tayside will take place at Dundee College, Old Glamis Road, Dundee on Thursday 27th October. The event is open to students from 10am to 11.30am and HSEQ professionals from 12pm to 3.30pm. Attendance is free and includes guest speaker sessions, practical demonstrations, refreshments and prize draws. Drop-in visitors are also welcome. Dundee & Angus College

Dundee and Angus College is moving away from traditional thinking and focussing much more on careers not courses. It wants the people of the Dundee and Angus region to be better informed and prepared for the career options available to them, no matter what stage they are at.
