With the season drawing to a close, Perth Racecourse will end its successful year of racing on a high with their autumn Ladies Day and Glorious Finale events. The midweek meetings (Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 September) will wrap up the season in style and guests can expect two consecutive days of exceptional racing and entertainment.

Autumn Ladies Day (Wednesday 21) is being run in partnership with PKAVS, a leading charity to help communities connect across Perthshire. Perth Racecourse will be offering a brilliant cash prize of £1,000 for the best dressed, with Gammies Country Clothing judging the style stakes.

Fashion forward racegoers will battle out in three categories on the day, with entries open for the Best Modern Tweed, Best Country Boots and PKAVS Most Colourfully dressed.

Donna from PKAVS said: “This is our first year partnering with Perth Racecourse and Ladies Day is a fantastic event to raise awareness and funds for our charity. PKAVS has been helping people across Perth and Kinross for over 30 years and we provide support for those living with mental ill health, young and adult unpaid carers and minority communities.

“Ladies Day is always a stylish day out and we’re excited to pick a potential winner in our Most Colourfully dressed category, and we’ve even got some unusual fundraising activities lined up to raise as much money as possible.”

A Perth Racecourse first, PKAVS will host the Furry Furlong. Registered racegoers will gallop to the finish line in their favourite animal themed onesie in front of the home crowd, all in aid of raising crucial funds for the charity.

Ladies will have a chance to relax and shop until they drop in the PKAVS Pamper Lounge with Copperfield Hair and Beauty, Stella and Dot Jewellery, Party Light, Glitter by Jem and Crystal Wardrobe all confirmed for the event. There will also be a tombola, raffle and PKAVS very own pop-up boutique charity shop.

As well as a day of thrilling horse racing, Perth Racecourse will also host a silent disco on the trackside where guests can keep the party going after the last race.

Hazel Peplinksi, chief executive at Perth Racecourse, said: “2016 has been a fantastic season and we can’t believe that it has almost come to an end. Ladies Day is always a big day in our social calendar and we are looking forward to working with PKAVS, a charity which does truly fantastic work in the area.”

PKAVS Autumn Ladies Day is the first of two fixtures next week, with The Glorious Finale (Thursday 22) closing the racing season. With some of the finest jockeys and horses expected to turn out for the final furlong, ticket holders will be treated to a spectacular day of racing and entertainment.
