Health and Wellbeing in sunny Arbroath

Published

Week 2 of the i-Novus 6 week health and wellbeing sessions for staff and their friends/families, and the weather was much kinder! After last weeks rain-soaked session with eight participants – the sunshine helped increase the headcount to eleven. We are hoping to reach twenty participants or more over the next four sessions.

We started off with a walk around Keptie Pond (some of us spotted ducks, swans, various fish and even terrapins!), we then had our 2nd session of yoga with Suzanne. Luckily due to the weather, this week we were able to perform the yoga moves in our bare feet which increased the feelings of grounding and wellbeing. The yoga began with a warm up, then various stretches and yoga poses and finished with a 5 minute relaxation exercise which helped calm the mind and body for the week ahead.

Robert Marshall, Managing Director of i-Novus, who is also currently training as a psychotherapist and addiction counsellor, rounded up the evening with a short talk on cognitive behaviour therapy – with some good advice on how to spot and dispute some of our common irrational beliefs/behaviour which we can all be prone to.

We look forward to seeing everbody again at Keptie Pond, Arbroath at 5.30pm on Sunday 20th August.
