Broughty Ferry based architects' double success from the National Civic Trust.

The Briggait in GlasgowNicoll Russell Studios brought two awards back to Dundee from the National Civic Trust for their work on the Briggait project in Central Glasgow.

The Briggait project has involved the redevelopment of an entire block of Grade A Listed buildings which are located immediately adjacent to the River Clyde. The project involved Glasgow's historic Fish Market being converted into a multi function arts centre for WASPS to offer artists' studios, artists' workshops and exhibition space.

Senior partner Ric Russell enthused 'The awards from the National Civic Trust are for our Briggait project in central Glasgow for WASPS. It was wonderful when we were initially commissioned to develop such a prestigious project in the heart of the central belt because we often find that it is strangely difficult to win local work in the Tayside area when we are competing against large Glasgow and Edinburgh practices. Now the feel-good factor generated by winning such a prime project in the middle of Glasgow has been amplified by the project winning both a National Civic Trust Award and the Special Civic Trust Award for Scotland, the only one awarded this year.'
