It's all getting shipshape down at Dundee's waterfront

Everything's getting shipshape down at Dundee's waterfront, the site of the historic RRS Discovery and her neighbour, the new V&A Dundee.

As new time lapse video footage shows, both visitor attractions are readying themselves for a sea of new visitors in 2018. The video captures both the final touches being made to V&A Dundee and the re-rigging of Discovery, whose masts and rigging have been meticulously restored to the tune of £350,000.

Shot over the space of several weeks, it shows crews, cranes and cherry pickers busily doing their part in what amounts to a £1bn transformation of the city's waterfront.

The next step for Discovery Point, where Captain Scott's Antarctic exploration ship is docked, is a £523,000 capital development project which will see enhanced exhibits and learning space, including an interactive sledge pulling experience.
