What Goes Up Must Come Down

The seas around the East Coast of Scotland will be very busy in the years ahead, hopefully generating lots of business opportunities for DACC members. In addition to the well reported offshore wind investments that are planned, there will also be a massive programme of decommissioning of oil and gas installations and asset, the cost of which has been estimated at up to as much as £30 billion over the next 30 years (although that will probably end up being an under estimate). The process of decommissioning offshore oil and gas facilities is complex, and calls for sophisticated management, planning, coordination and control of a wide range of skills, resources, facilities, technologies, equipment, services and consultancies.
