Dundee business duo hot foot it to fundraising target!

Two Dundee brothers, who specialise in bringing warmth to people’s homes, have exceeded their £2K fundraising target after walking across scorching coals for charity.

As part of Fire Surround Centres’ 50th birthday celebrations, Directors Gary and Graeme Turnbull walked 20 feet over coals heated to 1236 degrees Fahrenheit, raising funds for Alzheimer Scotland and Beat SCAD in the process.

Their father, Bob Turnbull, who launched Fire Surround Centres in 1969, was diagnosed with dementia when he was 62 and Gary’s wife Kirsty was diagnosed with SCAD in 2013, which caused her to have two rare types of heart attack.

Gary said, “We thought our showroom was cosy but little did we know!  The firewalk was a fantastic and fun challenge to get involved in, and a great way of giving back to two charities which mean so much to us as a family. We would like to thank everyone who supported us both financially, and on the night.”

The event was held outside Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Sense Scotland.
