As the BIG Bucket Trail gets well underway, Xplore Dundee’s urging local people to holiday-hop onto the bus to see the city’s latest Oor Wullie statues.

The popular promotional price of 20p for children with a valid fare-paying adult returns for the summer holidays, and just in time for the new Bucket Trail, which aims to raise money for the ARCHIE Foundation.

Managing Director Christine McGlasson said: “This is a winning combination – the Holiday Hop is the perfect way to get around Dundee to see all of the local Oor Wullie statues for this year’s Big Bucket Trail. I hope lots of families will take advantage of this great value kids’ ticket to visit as many as they can!

“And if you’re thinking of going further afield, don’t forget our new Edinburgh Airport Xpress is a great link with the tram at Ingliston, for easy access to Edinburgh city centre, where there are 60 more sculptures on display.”

Xplore Dundee is proud to be one of the sponsors of ‘Oor Rabbie’, along with several other members of Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce. The statue, which is a tribute to one of Scotland’s best-loved poets, Rabbie Burns, is located at City Quay, outside the offices of DACC.

Inspired by Scotland’s favourite son, Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail is the first nationwide public arts trail and will cover 700 miles across Scotland this summer. A total of 200 life-sized Oor Wullie sculptures can be spotted across Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow for 11 weeks from June 17 to August 30.

The goal of the trail is to raise vital funds for all of Scotland’s children’s hospital charities to provide the very best possible care and support for the combined half a million babies, children and young people who are seen each year.

At the end of the summer, the sculptures will be auctioned off and the money raised will be used to support the work of these charities – The ARCHIE Foundation, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.

The ARCHIE Foundation is the official charity of Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, Tayside Children’s Hospital in Dundee and Highland Children’s Unit in Inverness.
