Organisers and sponsors of the annual Dundee Sports Dinner have issued a final callout for entries to three accolades for the upcoming sold out ceremony ahead of next week’s deadline.

Each year the Dundee Sports Dinner aims to honour some of the greatest achievements of sportspeople in Dundee and the surrounding areas while raising money for sporting clubs and groups – and with 300 tickets sold, guests are set for a memorable night.

Local communities can nominate their sporting heroes in three categories. The categories are: Local Youth Sports Personality, Local International Sports Personality and The Ron McIntosh Lifetime Achievement Award.

Local Youth Sports Personality Award recognises outstanding individuals who have performed beyond their years, proving their potential to become world-class athletes. For those competing in sport internationally, the Local International Sports Personality Award aims to recognise and reward individuals with roots in Dundee who have reached the world's sporting stage.

Finally, the Ron McIntosh Lifetime Achievement Award which was created in 2016, gives recognition to the local communities most dedicated and passionate individuals.

Nominations can be made online at www.dundeesportsdinner.co.uk/2019-awards.html and must be submitted by Wednesday 31 July.

Dundee Sports Dinner takes place on Wednesday 18 September at the Invercarse Hotel with speakers Strachan OBE and George ‘Doddie’ Weir OBE. The event is sponsored by Thorntons, Brewin Dolphin, Freshjet and DWK Office Solutions.
