Healthy Working Lives: Coronavirus Programme

Published

NHS Tayside Healthy Working Lives understand that this is a very difficult time for everyone and many workplaces will be concerned about the health and wellbeing of staff as well as workplace survival in these difficult times.

We thought it might be useful to keep in touch and provide information on what we can all do to look after our own health and wellbeing and that of our colleagues, family and friends.

Healthy Working Lives Website
We would encourage everyone to visit the Healthy Working LIves Website where you can get information for businesses on Coronavirus as well as access to a range of online resources which includes Mental Health, Health Risks, Risk Assessments and Managing Health and Safety.
There is also a free and confidential phone line: 0800 019 2211.

Do you need to talk about what's on your mind?
NHS Tayside Community Listening Service is here for you throughout this time with appointments available via phone Monday - Friday. They will listen and can help you rediscover your strength. Just call or text 0796 777 1941 to find out how they can support you.

Looking after yourself
It's very important that you look after yourself at this difficult time. We need to ensure that we all:

• Eat well and stay hydrated
• Keep physically active
• Connect with people (digital support)
• Pay attention to the present moment (mindfulness)
• Learn new skills
• Get as much sunlight, fresh air and natural light as possible.

NHS Tayside

Because we all tend to think of it in health terms, we often lose sight of the fact that NHS Tayside is a major force in the local economy. Its spending, either directly on capital projects or indirectly through its staff salaries, sustains many private sector jobs. Its long standing and very successful collaboration with the University of Dundee has been significant in making Dundee a globally recognised leader in life sciences. And its work to improve the health of the population also benefits business, by providing local companies with healthier and, therefore, more productive workers. That is why everyone at DACC is excited about building even stronger links and more effective collaboration with NHS Tayside to create thriving communities across Dundee and Angus.
