Re-Opening Exhibition at Gallery Q Dundee

Published

23rd July 2020

Gallery Q Dundee are very excited to be able to bring you this re-opening exhibition. The gallery is now open and has been reorganised with a one way system to allow people to visit safely, with hand sanitisers and masks available.

They have 2 fabulous featured artists: Sigrid Shone and Martin Hill who are both established exhibitors with the gallery. Sigrid lives in Fife. She is bringing the first chance to see her newest work in a new technique for her: verre eglomise which translates as ‘gilded glass’. Visitors can see a total of 10 exquisite studies of Roses in this remarkable technique.

Martin has his studio in Dundee. His work was limited by lockdown, as he likes to work on location resulting in some lovely pastel works alongside his wonderful, expressive oil paintings.

They also welcome well known Fife wildlife artist Derek Roberston RSW and the detailed work of Kim Dewsbury, an artist working in Wales, to the gallery for the first time.

The exhibition includes 6 examples of Frank To’s coronavirus responses on UK government envelopes, alongside new work from Jean Martin RSW, Nichola Martin, Fiona Sturrock, Helga Chart RSW RWS, Jackie Cartwright and Pauline Patrick. You can also finally see some of Elizabeth Haines work in reality and the watercolours by Graham Wands from the previous exhibition.
