The award-winning Balhousie Care Group has issued its ‘Everyday Hero’ staff with specially minted coins to commemorate the Coronavirus pandemic and to honour their care, dedication and hard work.

The care home provider presented its 1500 staff members with a specially minted commemorative ‘Everyday Hero’ coin, along with a certificate of recognition for being key workers throughout the pandemic. The certificates were signed by Chairman Tony Banks.

The company’s Senior Leadership Team presented the certificates to each staff member, including care home teams, maintenance and head office staff, during a five-day tour of Balhousie Care’s 26 care facilities this week.

Tony Banks said: “2020 will go down in history as one of the most challenging we’ve known in modern times. The threat posed by the Coronavirus Pandemic has had a huge impact on us as a business and as people.

“We are immensely grateful and proud of the exceptional care our staff have shown and continue to show to our residents and colleagues. They have quickly learned and adapted to new procedures and protocols. They have stepped up to the pressure. They have protected each other during times of incredible stress. Throughout it all, they have helped maintain, and strengthen, the Balhousie Family.

“We hope these specially minted “Everyday Hero” commemorative coins will be a permanent and valuable reminder that during one of the worse times the world has known, they were there and their efforts, strength and caring made a difference to so many.”

Balhousie Care Group created the ‘Everyday Hero’ slogan as part of an internal corporate values campaign. It has since been used in marketing and advertising campaigns to celebrate its staff and is currently being extended to the company’s branded minis and vans.
