McGill awarded double contracts by Caledonia Housing Association

McGill, one of Scotland’s longest-serving main contractors, has been awarded a bathroom replacement contract worth £1.3 million by Caledonia Housing Association.

This closely follows the news that McGill will also carry out a kitchen replacement contract for the association, bringing the total contract works to £2.6 million.

The contract encompasses each step of the replacement programme, beginning with surveys of the existing bathrooms, planning the phased works, carrying out the replacement of the bathrooms, and completing any attendant works including décor and floor coverings.

This represents an extremely positive end to the year for McGill, which has been on a path of growth since its acquisition by Scottish investment group United Capital in March 2019. McGill has secured a number of contracts in 2020, was awarded work even during the lockdown period, and has also been appointed to a number of frameworks by housing associations across Scotland.

McGill Operations Director, Chris Ferriday commented, “I am delighted to announce this latest contract awarded to us by Caledonia Housing Association. To end the year on this note is a testament to our ability to carry out quality work at scale.

This has obviously been an incredibly tough year for all in the construction industry. To have been awarded contracts worth £2.6 million in the final weeks of 2020 shows that the industry is beginning to show strong signs of recovery, and McGill is definitely part of that.”
