Upcoming Temporary Traffic Orders

Liff Road and Myrekirk Road

Dundee City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose of facilitating City Fibre cable installation works. The Order is expected to be in force for 2 weeks from 18 January 2021. Its maximum duration in terms of the Act is eighteen months.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit temporarily (1) the left turn from Liff Road into Myrekirk Road and (2) the right turn from Myrekirk Road into Liff Road.

An alternative route will be available via Liff Road, A90 Kingsway and A923 Coupar Angus Road.

 

Strathmartine Road

Dundee City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for road safety concerns. The Order is expected to be in force for 12 months from 11 January 2021 . Its maximum duration in terms of the Act is eighteen months.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit temporarily all vehicular traffic in Strathmartine Road from a point 100 metres or thereby south of Loftus Street for a distance of 50 metres or thereby in a southerly direction.

Pedestrian thoroughfare will be maintained.

No alternative routes for vehicles are available.

 

Esplanade, Broughty Ferry

Dundee City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to provide physical distance measures for higher levels of pedestrians and cyclists. The Order is expected to be in force for 12 months from 11 January 2021 . Its maximum duration in terms of the Act is eighteen months.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit temporarily all vehicular traffic in The Esplanade from a point 160 metres or thereby from the junction with Bridge Street for a distance of 400 metres or thereby in a westerly direction.

Parking restrictions will be in place on The Esplanade from its junction with Bridge Street for a distance of 110 metres or thereby. Cyclists and pedestrians are unaffected by this order.

An alternative route will be available via Bridge Street, A930 Dalhousie Road, A930 Monifieth Road, Gray Street and Brook Street.
