Large companies reporting positive figures, harder times for smaller companies but employment numbers sustained.

The latest quarterly review shows that exports are down, as the worldwide uncertainty associated with the Eurozone and the USA has begun to affect Scotland.

However, output volume and staffing levels have all returned positive figures for the seventh consecutive quarter, and there have been reports of an increasing demand to fill engineering vacancies covering a wide range of disciplines which bodes well for young people looking to follow a career in engineering.
