2011 AGMDACC AGM Round Up
Members at the AGM overwhelmingly re-elected Chris Lundie as President for a further term of office and elected Jim Pickett as Vice President. The results of the recent ballot to elect four new Non-Executive Directors was also announced, with Kay Gilmour of Angus College, Alison Henderson of My Pinkie Promise, Richard Smyth of Kall Kwik and Dave Valentine from Angus Council winning the support of their fellow members in what was an exciting election process. Our thanks go to them, and the unsuccessful candidates, for being prepared to make that commitment to DACC. You can find out more about YOUR new Directors by clicking on the election nomination forms below. Chris Lundie also announced a number of retirals from the Board. Our grateful thanks go to Mai Hearne, Morna Wilson, Alan Rae, Trevor Haines and Angie Foreman: Chamber Champions one and all. Gary Langlands also stood down from the Board at the AGM. When addressing the AGM, Gary reminded members how far DACC has come since those dark days in 2006 when local businesses were reeling from the demise of the old chamber of commerce. He highlighted DACC's many successes since then and how he believed that this was the right time for him to step back and let the new team take the Chamber forward into its next phase of growth. DACC only exists today because a handful of individuals were totally committed to giving this city and this region the chamber of commerce that they believed it deserved. It was their hard work, motivation and inspiration that got DACC up and running and through those first few months that are the most difficult for any new business. Gary was at the forefront of that drive and everyone who believes that DACC means something today, owes him and his fellow 'founders' a huge debt of gratitude. The AGM also heard how a growing event programme, more members and more long-term membership deals with members had pushed the Chamber back into profitability in 2010, with a surplus of over £5000 reported. A full copy of the accounts can be found below. In his closing comments, Chris Lundie emphasised the new Board's commitment to make DACC bigger and better and encouraged every single member to engage. New Directors DACC Accounts 2010 |
