Hi55 Ventures Named in Startups 100: The Annual List of Most Disruptive New UK Businesses

The UK’s longest running index of disruptive new startups, the Startups 100, has released its 2021 lineup and Hi55 Ventures has made the list.

Run by the UK’s most established website for entrepreneurs, Startups.co.uk, the Startups 100 offers a showcase of new businesses that demonstrate innovation, solid financials, economic impact, and the ability to scale. The list has previously identified brands including Revolut, Deliveroo, HelloFresh and Bulb.

Hi55 Ventures is a fintech startup aiming to change the way that companies do payroll. It’s currently one of the most standardised, costly, and confusing processes for businesses to complete – particularly for SMEs, a major target audience of the firm.

The firm is shaped around a B2B payroll platform called Hi – the only platform on the market that offers Pay Asset Finance. Customers can choose to finance payroll by 8 weeks, enabling employers to hold on to their cash longer and improve financial liquidity, and attract and retain the best talent thanks to unparalleled payment flexibility.

For employees, Hi55 also means greater control of and access to the money they have earned, as they can choose when they want to be paid. This is not only hugely innovative, but also has lots of wellbeing benefits including reduction in stress.

Even more excitingly, Hi55 Venture’s growth seems to be only just beginning. Despite having only launched last year, they have already partnered with NTT Data, Mastercard and Microsoft to bring Hi to market.

Managing Editor of Startups.co.uk, Richard Parris, comments: “After a particularly difficult year for businesses we are happier than ever to celebrate UK success stories. Every year the Startups 100 shows how UK businesses are responding to the issues, concerns and trends of the time. Entrepreneurs solve problems - whether that is the home care crisis being tackled by businesses like Cera and Birdie, diversity in hiring being challenged by Multiverse or the recent pet boom being capitalised on by Vet AI - you can see UK businesses innovating to meet the challenges of the time - and being very successful whilst doing it!”
